Octopel (“Octopel,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website octopel.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you submit a form on the Site — for example, the Contact page or a “Request Service” form. This may include:

A description of the electrical work, problem, or project you are asking about
The type of request (e.g., emergency service, project quote, general question) and how you describe yourself (e.g., homeowner, business owner, property manager, builder)

We also collect certain technical information automatically when you visit the Site, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the page or ad that referred you (see Section 5).

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect payment card information through the Site.

2. Information We Do Not Store on the Site

The Site itself does not store the information you submit in a website database. When you submit a form, your information is transmitted directly to Octopel’s team (by email or other internal business systems) so that we can review your request and respond to you. We do not use the Site as a system of record for customer data.

Communicate with you about the service you asked about
Keep internal records related to the job or inquiry, once received by our team
Improve how we respond to and route incoming requests

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may share information with service providers who help us operate our business — for example, email, phone, or scheduling tools — solely so they can perform services on our behalf. These include the analytics and advertising measurement providers described in Section 5. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Octopel, our customers, or others.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies — small files or identifiers stored on your device — to understand how visitors use the Site and to measure the performance of our advertising. They are used for:

Analytics. Google Analytics collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the Site.
Advertising measurement. Google Ads and the ChatGPT Ads pixel tell us when a visit that began with an ad leads to an action on the Site, such as submitting a request form. Google’s call tracking may display a different phone number to visitors who arrive from an ad, so that we can tell which calls came from advertising.
Site experience. Microsoft Clarity records how visitors interact with pages (for example clicks, scrolling, and screen activity) so that we can find and fix usability problems.

These tools are operated by Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI, which may process this information under their own privacy policies. We do not use them to collect the contents of the forms you submit. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings, and blocking them does not affect your ability to use the Site, request service, or call us.

6. Data Retention

We keep information submitted through the Site for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, provide the service you asked about, and meet our legal, accounting, or recordkeeping obligations.

7. Your Choices

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the information you submitted to us by emailing service@octopel.com. We will respond to reasonable requests, though we may need to keep certain information where we have a legitimate business or legal reason to do so.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information submitted through the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
